Being paid in $US - best method?

If anyone has any experience of this and can advise I'd be very grateful. I've been taken on to do regular freelance work by an organisation in the States, but am trying to work out the best way for them to pay me. My concerns are: losing the least amount of money in the transaction, obviously, and making it easy for them to do at their end, since they were already unsure of employing someone abroad, partly because of this issue, and took a bit of persuasion. Payments are likely to be between $1000 and $3000. Any suggestions?

citibank do have other USD accounts. I have one that is a savings account with a cash card. I usually just lodge cheques in it by post and then use the cashcard to take USD when I am in the US. Although you can take GBP out of it if you like.0
