My wife works for lidl and these are great.

The store only find's out a few days before and normally it's all returned or unsold stock.

They have it when they have a big enough collection to do it and normally hold it at the quiter easier store in the city (Being the one my wife works at)

Was a few good stuff but you cant return and also you can test anything works. We went in the night before and grabbed a load of stuff heaters etc. but they did'nt work :( Actually all the elctrical stuff we grabbed did'nt work but there was lot's of other stuff there that was good :) We got half our kid's xmas from it :)

Best part was getting off with paying it :) We had a nissan Serena at the time and filled the whole back up with stuff never mind the trolley :)

Will defo be going down the next time it's on i suppose this is the only benefit of being employed there getting stuff earlier.

They cant stop you returning it if its faulty.

Mind you i used to work for them and they use to feel they had special rights then too.

I personally wouldnt touch most of their non food items as they are cheap rubbish though some of there food offers arnt too bad.

Other non food/supermarket retailers have caught them up now and in some cases left lidls behind. They used be market leading in all their offers but now struggle to keep up.
Amazingly i still have a SEG 20" TV from them which still works after 6 years but the amount of returns they got when i worked for them from faulty items was amazing

Most people who have seen what goes on behind the scenes in a store, office or hospital knock the hand that used to feed them. It's the same all over. From Harrods to Poundland. But a bargain is a bargain and that's what I had. Well several of them actually.

I've worked out that I paid about 20p per item, so I don't think I've got anything to complain about :p

Sure it's their unsold special offers. They have that problem all over Europe: having brutally overestimated their sales and getting stuck with all the stuff. They are now clearing out.

What concerns the quality of their items, they have recently been thrashed by the media and consumer organisations in Germany. Far too many lemons.

This is a German link to Stiftung Warentest, a German independent consumer protection institution that mercilessly tests almost every product and service on the market. Link in German, but look at the piechart anyway: only the yellow and green segments stand for real bargains, blue and purple mean no cheaper than anywhere else; the red segment means sorry mate, you bought trash.

So what...I'm waiting for their car park sale in Lowestoft. They put a huge Lidl here and another one in Yarmouth. Going to strike at both, given the chance.
