well... my nerdism for tonight is that I had to make sure that i posted my £6 gain from BF in £2 coins on here and that got I some unexpected overtime at work tonight which involved drinking tea and eating some cake and getting paid time and a half! So I volunteered to stay and do it instead of my usual 'I cant be bothered!'

Dear Mr or Mrs or Miss or Ms southernscouser,

In response to your recent posting in Debt Free Wannabe, I would like to apply for the position of Debt Free Wannabe Nerd, with a membership number yet to be assigned.

I recognise that this post carries with it considerable responsibilities. These include coming up with wierd ideas about how to cut the cost of shopping at Sainsbury's or Tesco's, saving £2 coins whenever possible and alerting the OH to the error of his/her spending ways.

In support of my application I would like to point out that I was the person who recently suggested buying Sainsbury's Basics chocolate at 25p a bar, in preference to Green and Black's at about £1.30. I have also suggested that Schwartz spice jars must be worth about £1.20 each, as the contents is frequently worth less than 20p in any other format. Finally, I have made a watertight case for only purchasing toilet rolls when you don't actually need them, as then you are more likely to get good deals such as BOGOFs etc. Oh - and I got a big bunch of daffodils sent to my mum for Mothers Day for £12 from ValueFlora and I got £2.40 cashback from Quidco.

Okay, I know I haven't yet really understood how the £2 club thing works, but I'll get the hang of it soon.

Finally, I just really really really wannabe a debt free wannabe nerd please please please!! Gis a number! Go on!! Gis it!!! I've got Tesco vouchers and Sainsbury's Triple Nectar tokens in my wallet! Plus I often remember to use them! I've got an A&L account and I got paid for being referred!! I check my gas and electric meters every morning!!! I must be a nerd - either that or I'm clinically insane!

Sorry about that outburst. I hope you will give my application due consideration, and I look forward to receiving your reply.

    Yours,

    JN

Well Jolly Nolly, you get my vote!

We'd be glad to have you in the £2 coin savers club, basically we just hoard any £2 coins we get and, what do you know, they add up faster than 1p and 2ps  , who'd have thought?! :rotfl: Its not magic money out of nowhere, obviously, and yet there are a few grumpy people who like to moan at us about that! Its just a bit of fun and putting the coins away hopefully helps us not to spend them, thereby saving a bit of money (maybe). Anyway, do pop over to the thread and say hi but beware, £2 coin saving seems to quickly become an obsession once you get started! :rotfl:

SS, we aren't all gonna have to justify ourselves like this are we?! :o I might need to start thinking now :rotfl:
