I could have swore that price checker said it was £1.12.

Shame it is not good for the farmers. Just means they get even less per litre now. And most likely less than it cost to produce.

ASDA's advert about the milk reduction says they are not taking off the farmers, so I assume it is off their profit margin, which wouldn't surpirse me as I use to work there and they had quite a few loss leaders to get people through the door.

Ps not wishing to sound argumentative- ;)

If you have a farm foods near you they sell 4 Pints whole milk semi skimmed
and skimmed for 85p or you can buy Two for £1.50

The milk that you buy from Farmfoods is 2 litres which is equivalent to 3.52 pints, not 4 pints. 4 pints= 2.272 litres.

But I think they are still the cheapest even during this price war as 4 pints for £1 = 44p per litre, i.e. 88p per 2 litres and Farmfoods' milk is 85p per 2 litres. You get 2 x 2 litres for £1.50 which is equivalent to 37.5p per litre or 21.3p per pint.

This is less than half the price of the doorstep pint of 49p.

I've moved back to buying from my milkman because I can't bear to think about the amount of plastics going into landfill just because of my family's four pints a day habit.

Sorry to sound like an old hippie, but our generation's obsession with plastic wrapping everything has got to stop sometime, before the whole country becomes a filthy rubbish dump. Don't believe me? Go for a walk along a beach and see how much plastic cr*p is washing in on the tide. Go to a football pitch in your local park and see how there's dozens and dozens of plastic bottles strewn everywhere. Look at your own kitchen bin and see how much of the stuff in there is plastic, which will never, ever biodegrade - just sit in some landfill somewhere, or get incinerated to poison the atmosphere further.

I hate to rant, but plastic milk jugs and bottled water are my pet hates at the moment. Milk should come in glass bottles, water should come from taps.

    End of sermon :silenced:

i don't know if u have heard but plastic r recyclable so instead of complaining get off ya bum and take them 2 the recycling bins. mind i do agree that the farmers are gettin a raw deal, but when your on benefits you find you can't be choosy if it help the money go further.
