Me mam has received two balance transfer cheques from Barclaycard. The promo rate is 0% until November. She would like to pay them into her bank account. Does anyone know if she can make the cheques payable to herself and pay them into her own bank account and still get the 0% offer.

Yea, they are still cheques so still get 0%. She will pay the cheque fee though (typically 2 - 5%) but other than that it is fine... She can make payable to whoever she wants. If she pays into bank she'd make payable to herself.
I used a Citi one and paid £1k into bank then paid another card this way with my debit card and got 0% on my cheque from citi but had to pay 3% fee cos I used a cheque which cost me £30. If i'd just done a BT it would have cost me just £25 as this rate was 2.5% so just check this first!2010 - year of the troll

I spoke to someone in Barclaycard transfers dept in India. The lady said you can not pay the cheque into your bank account. Does anyone know definately if this would be the case and she did not seem very confident.0 -
