Disgusted by ealing council pcn notice

Hi,
I believe that there should be controls for parking but this really hits below the belt. We all know that councils are heartless and this is a way of ripping of the motorist of yet more money.
I parked on a yellow line for literally two minutes while my wife went in to a shop to ask for directions. 12 days later i recieve a PCN notice from Ealing council for a £50.00 fine if paid within 21 days (as this was caught by cctv). This is utter madness and the councils are going too far.
Please can someone help.

Assuming the yellow was restricted at the time and the PCN says '01' or '02' then you probably are cooked.
i agree with your feelings on the matter though. CCTV enforcement is being abused. I've had to help with a number of cases where it was clear the boarding/alighting exemption applied. Unfortunately you would not qualify.
The effect, to my mind, is making our roads dangerous because we can no longer stop briefly when necessary. That means all kinds of situations - feeling unwell, checking a map, temporary overheating. With vehicles having to wander around lost, unsound or with impaired drivers then the danger is clear.
I suppose you could claim it was a necessary stop for emergency safety reasons but I very much doubt that would be accepted.
If you want to show ALL of the PCN then it can be checked for errors.0 -
Thanks, its just so frustrating. Esp. these days when money is tight. I had my daughter in the car, just picked her up from school and thought i'd ask for an alternative route. Sent wife in for lierally two mins. and 12 days later i get a pcn. What justice is this. Why is there no leeway. These money grabing ******** are kicking when your'e already down. But anyway thanks for replying. Think i'l put in one appeal buy some time so i can find the money to pay.0
