It should give you all options of public transport. I just did a quick search on the 21st (tomorrow):
1058-1313 Rail from Inverness to Aberdeen
1313-1317 Walk to bus stop/station
1330-1440 Stagecoach Bus 263 to Peterhead.
It will obviously completely depend on what time of day you're going...But 3 hrs 35 mins is quickest I can find using that site (above journey is 3 hrs 42 mins though). HTH0
