mouse pointer freezes when i close a window

for about 1-2 seconds.

but only after the machine has been running for 5 minutes or so following a reboot

ive got 2 dell laptops, both quite high spec, only this one does the above

ive removed the mouse and its the same with the built in mouse pad

it happens when i close a window, or my email, even the shut down panel etc

its doing my head in now ... any advice please, ive reset my browser settings cleaned out temps , ran virus and spyware programs.

    forgot to say the mouse runs perfectly within any windows

    Tried a different browser assuming you are talking about internet browsers.

    If using IE 8, its buggy imho.

    Tried a different mouse?

    Got any "special" things running?

    Sounds like a driver issue.

    Go onto Dell and see if they've got up to date drivers for the mouse and pad.
