Well... venue is booked, registrar is booked, photographer, guitar player, and dj are booked.. so i think thats all the major things really. Not getting married until Aug 2010, so have a while to wait!

think from now on it will be mainly dress shopping and getting little bits. Bought a load of favour bags from ebay the other day, so will gradually be getting things to out n them. Also bought a load of mard making stuff from Hobbeyvraft so have started to gradually make the invites! will be going flower shopping at some point..

i think it was a bit rushed to get the major things rushed before someone bet us to them! now i can hopeflly relax and sort out the littler things that i only have to rely upon myself to do!

Now a married lady and loving it! Now..to clear that pesky mortgage!

Ive ordered on the 18th a protype of my BM dresses with gianibridal to see what its like... It was £52 & that includes P&P..

Now that is more than terminal uk and the original store of dress had quoted.. (They had said $65 which works out at about £42) but I decided that extra was worth it for the good reviews and customer service.

I know you said before what is the point of getting a prototype but I just felt so much better in myself doing that and seeing the dress before spending money on all 4 (plus 2 FG's) ... and I was getting nowhere finding a dress maker in Scotland (if only I lived near you Linda!!)that would work out anywhere near the price of ordering all the BMs plus one protype one never mind the same price! (And this includes me budgeting for alteration on the chinese dresses once they are in Scotland!)

So they have said it will take 30 days to make and like milly they will send me a few pictures towards the end of the pricess to check I'm happy before shipping.

They're keeping a swatch of the material they actually use for colour match reference because the idea is I may be able to use the protype for one of my BM's.

I'm having the prototype made to measure to me - to see how good the the made to measure is and to see what my Mother's measuring is like!! I'm a size 16 and the idea is that this can perhaps become the dress for my currently pregnant BM. Since she doesn't know what size she'll be at the wedding (as she will have given birth 5 weeks before) they say you should buy 2 sizes up from her usual size - which is a 12 - and make alterations from there. This is why they have kept the colour match so they can advise that the new navy chiffon roll of material, colour matches okay to the original dress or not, and thus whether I should buy 3 or 4 dresses for my 4 BM's ...

If I have to buy 4 dresses from the same batch of material I plan to sell the extra one on ebay after the wedding.

I also asked about the underneath material - and they came back saying it would be the silky satin in the same colour - so thats what you had mentioned so i was happy that without prompting thats what they had suggested.

(phew! That was a longer post than I imagined!!)

Well the dress is now winging it way to me! The email communication has been good and originally they had just tied the sash on , so that I could tie it whatever way I wanted it and I said no i wanted it sewn on in this particular way and they've done that and it looks fab!

    Here's the original dress...

My pics - to come - I can't upload from work!!

Now the question is - how do I get creases out of chiffon?

I get married on 3rd October which I believe is 100 days today... I can't wait!!

Dress, shoes, tiara and undies are at my mum and dad's, veil should be in in next 4 weeks ish (all paid for!) Suit fitting is sorted for next Saturday, flowers are booked for myself, BMs and tables... Erm... Oooh we got the rings ages ago, venue (including DJ) and church are booked, honeymoon sorted (only Jersey so don't need jabs or currency :j) BM dresses in next week, tiaras for them are in my wardrobe. We're 'doing an M&S' for the cake, toppers ordered last week, have assembled a large selection of glassware for the sweeties buffet, BMs pressies sorted as is my pressie for OH, favour boxes are chosen and will order after payday, and we have all the stuff to make the invites which is planned for this Thursday... I have delegated my hen do (which is also my 21st birthday so could get very messy indeed hehe) to BMs and friends, and just asked them that we don't stay away from our home town (so I'm around if anything goes wrong)!

Actually, I don't feel so scared now! All we've got to do is make/send the invites, buy a ribbon (using my dad's car we think!), make the cake, sort a hip flask for best man and wine for ushers, turn up to the suit fitting and source green/white/silver sweeties for the buffet! Not bad for saying we only got engaged 7 months ago :p

Creases in chiffon- lovely job!!! Defo hang gown first for a few days to allow the creases to fall out naturally. Then, a few blasts with a steam iron keeping it about 10" away from fabric and using a nice clean hand smoth creases out.

Green and white sweeties- soft mints. Don't they come in green and white?

green white and silver sweets - try sugared almonds - they come in a multitude of colours including metallic (although to be honest, they're a bit strange to eat).

    Wedding 10 months ish.
    We have:
    - a church
    - a priest
    - probably a room for the evening do
    - probably a DJ
    - something pink and sparkly hidden away.

I feel pretty overwhelmed and kind of don't want to think about the rest of it. OH will not give opinions unless poked forcibly, which doesn't help. Also, he keeps saying he wants to wear a kilt, which bugs me as he has absolutely no Scottish or Irish heritage!
