Does anyone have a mothercare my3 or my4 pushachair?

I can't decide on prams/pushchairs so was after recommendations.

I like the loola and the mothercare one and they are about the same price but was wondering if anyone had any pros or cons against them.

Unfortunately i only know people with Quinnys who didn't like them so would like people some recommendations before purchasing anything

THanks,

I have this one and after 3 children and 4 different buggies I can recommend it.

    http://www.mamasandpapas.co.uk/product-herbie-splishy-splashy/276511001/type-i/

Luckily we managed to get it on sale half price at £275 so a bargain really. Worth ringing Mamas and papas and finding out when there next sale might be. I think they have some on ebay also for a similar price. A bargain considering you get the pram carrycot, pushchair, chassis, basket, rain cover, parasol and change bag :) It's identical in style to the bugaboo chameleon (pretty much the same all but in label) which all in would set you back around £1000.

I wouldnt entertain the loola and any other pushchair that didnt have a proper pram carrycot to attach. The quinny does the dreampod but unfortunately its so tiny that you are lucky to get any use out of them for your £150 extra. You can attach car seat to the loola to make travel system bnut its not good for babies backs. Car seat can also attach to the herbie if you want for a short journey.

    Pros -
    Easy to fold down
    Very smoove to push/steer
    Simple foot brake
    Large basket
    Decent sized carrycot
    3 point lie back buggy
lightweight (reasonably for pram of its size)
    chassis folds down compact
removable wheels in case of small boot
    comfortable
    good value
    good quality
    lots of accessories

    Cons -
basket tricky to access when carrycot in use
no handles for shopping bags (i bought some of those bag hooks)
    expensive if bought full price
have to remove carrycot to fold (very simple hold and lift system)

    I'd buy it again.
They also have a good 2nd hand resale value on ebay for when you decide to downgrade to a stroller.

    THanks,

My friend's got a My3 and absolutely LOVES it!

She bought it for her 2nd baby, for the 1st she got a hefty, cumbersome Graco travel system, and her baby was long so grew out of the carrycot in weeks.

This was one of the main reasons for going for the My3 as it's longer. It's longer than lots of other prams, there's so much room for baby (and she had another long baby so that was handy!) I've pushed it and found it moves very freely and the steering feels lovely and light. I think the only negative is the shopping bag isn't the most accessible.

I'd be seriously tempted to get one if we had another, but I bought the M&P Pliko Pramette when ds was 4 mths old (1st pram was a Trenton and got taken back to Mothercare because they couldn't stop it setting all the shop alarms off...) and the Pliko is excellent, very cleverly designed, too. I still use it and ds is 20 months old now.

PS I have owned 4 prams, 2 of them Quinnys - the Speedi I got for £50 off Ebay and it was the only way I could get ds off for his naps because the straps dont allow him to sit up, and I've got a Quinny Zapp which folds up so small that it fits in my mini :j A friend had a Quinny Buzz and didn't get on with it because it was too big when folded up.

THE LOOLA has £100ish off in boots at the mo, and you get points back.

The Loola does have a carry cot to attach to it  and it is lovely - can be used instead of a moses basket. Not sure why RoxieW said that it didn't have one.

We had a Loola and found it very difficult to get up and down kerbs - not sure if it is the shape of the pushchair or the handles. This was with a tiny baby. We tried it in the shop with a 1 year old in and it was still very difficult.

If you want to try it then take a large heavy bag with you.

I don't know why shops don't have some sort of weight that you can put in a pushchair/pram to imitate a baby. I would make choosing a pushchair so much easier.

No help with the other pushchair though. But I really dislike 3-wheelers (don't know why though )

Thanks guys, I do love the My3/4 ones but maybe im being a complete snob and my only reservation is that it has mothercare written on the side of the frame.

That being said im no longer i contact with the "yummy mummys" who had to have THE best prams on the market so why am i letting it bother me.

It does seem really good and like you say it is longest as considering my 1st was off the height chart when he was born and they say no2s are usually bigger then maybe this is the best option?

Maybe not what you are looking for but I just bought a Hauck Jeep Infinity (in Bordeaux) which is a cheaper copy of the Bugaboo Cameleon/My 3 type pushchair. It has two front small wheels and two air tyres at the back. It has a bucket seat that can be forward and rear facing. It weighs around 11kg and really light to push. I really wanted a Cameleon but couldn't justify the cost and the fact that after a year I usually resort to the trusty Maclaren Quest . But I wanted something for long walks and this is perfect. It's discontinued but I bought it off ebay brand new. Mine came with a footmuff, raincover and bag all for £98 delivered :T

The Hauck is also available with carrycot for around £170 ish, again on ebay. It's £200 plus delivery with car seat too. I read so many reviews and found almost all very favourable.

    Here is a photo:

    hope that helps!

Why have you just taken a quote directly from RoxieW? Are you an ebay seller perhaps?!

    Hi Benson,

I just wanted to add that we are buying the My4 tomorrow. I loved it for the reasons you did and it was so simple to put together and push about.

My 22 wk scan on wed showed than my baby is quite long, too. So I'm glad you highlighted that this pram is excellent for long babies! Thanks.

We have a MY3, our little one has just turned 1.
Its a great pushchair. Heres my verdict, it was brilliant as a pram, but once the LO was more upright we find she sits too far back in push chair mode and is always leaning forward. We have used it off road many times, its been perfect for that, and my partner has even been using it for buggy fit, it is very manoeuvarable,. It does take up all the boot space when it is in the back of the Golf, and in my opion it is quite cumbersome. Its ok as long as you dont have to keep putting it up and down.
There is no sun umbrella., so we had to hunt around for one to fit it, and also there are no hooks for carrier bags - a small thing, but wait till you are out shoppping.
