Honeymoon on a shoestring

We are getting married on the 20th May and would like to go away for a few days. From the outset we decided to get married without getting into debt and so far we do not owe a single penny. We have a very small budget for a honeymoon and would like ideas and suggestions fom you.

We are from Northern Ireland and don't mind staying NOrthern Ireland or going over to the UK mainland or Ireland.

Thanks.

  • you don't say exactly how small your budget is and i might be miles off the mark here but how about travelodge? We have 3 nights at burton in kendal booked for £30 starting 7th may. its about 10 miles from the lake district, we are also planning a day out in lancaster, a day in morecambe (i here its getting better lately) and i'm dead excited!! maybe you could find something similar. we stayed in barrow in furness travelodge in october and used this as a base to explore the lake district, it really is breathtaking. Also, I expected the travelodge to be really grotty but it was lovely!!
    It's definitely not definately!
