Ink Cartridges from Ebay

I have never bought anything from Ebay but know that plenty of people here do.
I completed their application partially but stopped when at the final bit where it
seemed I would have to sign up allowng them to give my name to other
contacts. Usually, there is a box where one can delete this option but I couldn't see it on Ebay. Any comments please? It's for ink cartridges. What is the best way to pay for things on that site?

PayPal is pretty much the standard payment option on eBay. Some sellers will not accept anything else.

What do you mean "to other contacts"? It's many years since I setup my account...

You definitely need to sign up for PayPal as well, otherwise you are very limited in purchases and can't sell.

    ISOFA, thank you
I will sign up for EBay but the declaration at the end of the sign-up
includes wording that idicates I am giving them permission to pass my name etc to other sellers.

3rd party sellers, I think she means..
doesn't apply with Ebay. The seller gets your name and address when you buy something through ebay. That's about it.
Paypal don't give your details to anyone else, nor so Ebay.

This is nothing to get excited about. Obviously when you buy on eBay they need your permission so that they can provide your details to the seller.

I would suggest you take care buying non oem printer cartridges. In my experience the quality can be inferior and some printers will not accept them.

Thank you all. I have signed up now but have a new problem in that the light on the printer does not come on. Might have to get a new one. I know they are cheap but if the reason is something simple. I will get a new black cartridge from EBay but can't see low ink being the problem with the printer.

I have not looked at that site yet but was surprised to see the prices on EBay and one person was selling an empty cartridge for £1 - "ready for refilling".
In the end I had a look at my regular site - Inkcyle - and found I have a number of points which can be used to reduce the price of the cartridge. In addition they give 75p for my empty cartridges. Its all academic now anyway as the printer won't come on but I know it isn't broke. I found a new cartridge and then discovered that I won't be able to fit it as my OH pushed the carriage so that the cartridge position is no longer in the centre. Just can't believe some of the things he does considering he knows nothing about these things.Aaaargh
