Printing good quality pics, quickly!!

I need a printer than can print very good quality pictures from a 6-8MP digital camera, but quickly.
I will be using a laptop, people will be standing waiting to walk away with their pic so speed is reasonably important.
I need as little messing around as pos, so ideally I want to put the right size paper in, one picture comes out and away they go.
I want to get as close to 8"x6" as I can, cost per print is also important.
I am aware that Kodak do a range of printers that cost mega bucks. Unfortunately, I need to try and do it on a budget, at least for the time being.
Another possible idea is to have 2-3 printers linked to the laptop which would speed things up.
Any thoughts, ideas, suggestions, recommendations would be useful.
Thanks in advance.
