I need some help with the understanding of a question:

"Have you applied for financial support before (for example, a grant or loan, tuition fees or bursary including support for fees) from a local authority or any other organisation in the UK (for example, Department of Health)? If you applied for support and did not receive it, still select 'Yes'."

Do you think they mean from previously taken courses? Or neither? I am applying for second year finance and obviously I took a loan out in first year, so I am tempted to put yes, but I think they maybe aiming have previous courses and loans I have taken out?
  • Just received forms (book size) to complete for loans and grants for this coming September. Is there an official body that can advise me on its completion?

With it you should get a book which explains each part of the form. So you have to keep referring between them. If you do it online you can just click the question mark next to the question and it will explain what it wants from you.

If you have a specific question you get stuck on you can call your LEA (the number will be on the student finance website or maybe on a sticker on the back of your form)... or you could post on here and we can see if we can help.

Quick question: student loans are generally paid on the first day of term, right? My friend and I are at different unis, and we are both trying to figure out when the April payment will come through. Of course, neither of us can find our payment schedules  Any help would be great!

Yep, but usually the money doesn't actually get into your account until 3 days later, depending on who you bank with though.

Also, if you remember your ART ID, password etc. you can see when next payment is online.

The form asks for my bank account details for where I want the monye to be paid.

I don't have a student bank account yet, can I put down the current account I have at present and change this to my student bank account later?

I hear that some/most student accounts require you have the student loan paid directly into your account. I am going travelling soon so need to get this sorted before I leave.
