They got the figure of 615 by miss reading / miss typing 651...
The excess for lap tops on the Endsleigh website and it appears to be £50.
They are charging a lot of money to cover a lap top as an additional item (circa £51) you will probably find your contents and lap top are already covered under your parents home insurance (If you normally return home out of term time). If its not already covered by their policy it would normally cost around £30 to extend their policy. It might be worth looking into that when your policy is due for renewal. (Bear in mind if you go down that route they will probably have to declare your claim which might increase the price a bit and if your living in shared accomadation they will probably restrict theft cover to only being covered when there are signs of a violent or forcible entry).
