Wedding Abroad

Hello,

My fiance and I have decided we would like to get married abroad and I'm looking for some MSE users help.

We want our as many of close friends and immediate family to attend the ceremony so Mediterranean Europe would be the most sensible option, and we would consider either a Catholic or Civil Ceremony.

Can anyone tell me any legal issues with being married abroad?

Also can anyone recommend any destinations they have been to?
