8/32 page A5 colour brochure - low quantity

Hi all,

Am just wondering whether anyone knows where I could get an A5 colour brochure printed (as cheap as poss). I have 8 pages (front and back, so when folded I have a 32 page brochue/programme).

I only need a small quantity (anything between 10 and 25) for a monthly programme. I may be paying for these out of my own pocket (haven't decided whether to charge for them yet - am waiting to see costs).

Everywhere I look I see min. order quantities of 50, 100, etc.

If anyone could reccommend a web site or printers I would really appreciate it.

You don't have any local printing shops who could run you up a little batch?

Hiya, I am compiling a list of local companies to contact.

I've found before though when doing other work that online prices are often the best. This is my first programme/brochure I have produced and previous places/web sites I have used do not print these.

You need to use a local printer (or internet one if you can find a good one) who specialise in short run inkjet based printing. It's far too much of a short run for offset, would cost in the setup, and you'd only get it back for 500 to 1000 copies or more.

Have a look at RCS they do some short run inkjet based, but most is offset.

I'm not sure if VistaPrint would do this, worth a look.

The thing with on-line printing, is that you can't talk and discuss the job and the technical details (do you understand resolution, bleed, file types, CMYK / colour choices for print etc?)

Have you thought about just producing it yourself, home laser printer or good fast colour inkjet, if you are doing them every month, it'd pay to have a laser...

The design part I'm not worried about, I understand all about the bleed/resolution/etc from other things.

I have access to a laser printer but (unless I'm being a bit silly) can't get it to print to the very edge of the page (some for example have a colour back ground but end up with a white border) ??
