Any idea the cheapest way of doing this?
I have this money in an online casino, in US$, and I'd like to get it out.
They can send me a (I believe UK-drawn) bankers draft, they can transfer to my bank account. I have bank accounts with Lloyds, Nationwide, Natwest and Smile.
Or possibly I could withdraw it via my Lloyds debit card or my Nationwide Visa credit card.
I called up Lloyds but they couldn't tell me their exchange rate.

When my husband received an inheritance from his mother in New Zealand dollars, we asked First Direct if we could open a NZ$ bank account to hold the money until we were ready (and the excahnge rate was right). It was done that very day, with no charges. When the money went in, there was a £7 charge but when we transfer the money accross to our £ account there is no charge.
The only thing is getting an exchange rate is a bit of a palaver. I have to call FD, ask to be put through the foreign, then ask what the rate currently is. I wish I could check it online, but you can't.

Try opening a UK citi bank USD account. See here: http://www.citibank.co.uk/personal/banking/international/eurocurrent.htm2010 - year of the troll

I had a Nationwide International US$ account before. Doesn't really solve the problem of getting the money into pounds at a good rate.0
