HSBC...receiving faster payments....NOT

Options
Any one else experience this, I make payments to my daughter from my bank using the faster Payment System....on the last two occasions, her bank (HSBC) has rejected the payments and returned them to my bank....it has been working very well for the last few years and even when it changed to FPS it worked ok....but now these 2 glitches have me worried....it wouldn't be so bad, but I dont check my online bank everyday to make sure things are working, its normally my daughter ringing me to say its not there(the money....lol), when that happens I send from a different bank (Halifax) and it all works...

anyone else getting hit and miss results sending to HSBC?

I never send to HSBC I always sent out of HSBC and it always goes through as FPS.

I suspect its either the other bank, or you're entering the wrong info. If the money is being returned to you then the bank cannot find the information you have given them (account number, sort code), so you could be entering these wrong? Or the bank you are sending them from isn't.

I've never had an issue sending FP to an HSBC sortcode - if the payment is being returned by HSBC it will be because some of the details are incorrect, or the account number and name don't tally.

If they didn't accept FP then the money would just be credited as a BACS and arrive after 3 working days, and this obviously isn't the case

money has been transferred successfully now for quite a long period, its just in 2 of the last 4 weekly payments, they have been rejected....name, a/c no etc hasn't been changed in years....just heard from my daughter that HSBC have written to her apologising for the first failure, after the second now, she has written to them....pro-active or what?....lol....interesting to hear their response....will post if and when she gets it.
