True story good news i hope...well sort of and praise to CCCS

Hi all.

My first time here, and what a great site and help available.

After looking into IVAs BR etc, I came to this place to find out a bit more and also pass over what happened yesterday. After a few phone calls to several agencies, it seemed and felt I was being sold something, and not sure how the system worked, it almost worked.

One agency, and over friendly, talking about families, it seems they pull you in to a feel good factor and want to be your best friends and mother you, sorry but no thanks. Anyway, this particular agency, when going through my budget, in and outgoings, actually managed to put 3 and a half thousand as a figure, even though I was quoting form my own spreadsheet, yet she still carried on with the yadda yadda's and was going to be in contact.

As a single lone parent and self employed with my own home, it is scary and I feel for daze and wondered if I could throw something in the pot here.

I rang the CCCS who were extremly busy, and spoke to me briefly and were offering a phone meeting later in june, but in the interim, they gave me what is called a client reference number. This number is to be quoted to a company which rings for payment, and it seems to defer the calls. So yesterday, as soon as I finished the call with CCCS, I had a call from ASDA card asking for a minmum payment, I quoted the CR number, low and behold, the operative, actually said "no problem, we will get in contact and we as a company actually like the CCCS".

So my question would be, if a person had an active IVA, would it be possible to effectivly change companies staus of debt or is a massive contract issue?
By the way, I managed to cut down debt in two years from 25k to 8k. As a chef of 30 years I used all my skill to feed my two boys of 10 and 13 cheaply, healthily which includes school lunches, and who have padlle wheels for arms to feed themselves. It is amazing how much one can save on food, including looking at labels etc. If anyone would like any tips on food, childrens meals for school, please do not hesitate to get in touch, it would be my absolute pleasure.
I hope this helps and good luck.
