Having trouble cancelling a Lloyd Credit Card (do not owe them any money)

I have a Lloyd credit card that I had years ago but never used (never used so I do not owe them any money) which I only remember after looking at my credit report. I then phoned Lloyd credit card to cancel it and was reassured that it has been done. But a few months later, I looked at my credit report again and the Lloyd credit card is still on my report so I sent a letter requesting it to be canceled immediately. I never received a reply until I saw this credit card's credit limit has been reduced on my credit report meaning the credit card must still be active. So I sent another letter to request them to cancel and now it has been 2 months after the last letter and they have not replied.

What more forceful route can I take to finally get my Lloyd credit card canceled?
