Help with credit report

Not sure if I'm in quite the right place here, but wondering if anyone can help!

I've just checked my Equifax report and although everything is fine, there are two credit products missing. My current account and my credit card, both with HSBC. I've had the current account for 7 years and the credit card for about 1 year. Neither should have any defaults on them.

Any ideas why they're not showing? I checked my Experian file about 6 months ago and it was the same - no mention of either HSBC product. I know the easiest thing would be to ring them and enquire but just wanted to get some opinions first!

Thanks!

Maybe HSBC don't report to Equifax ? They definitely do to Experian, as I've just checked mine on there.

They do report to Equifax as their products are on my Equifax file

You can call them and they will amend the file appropriately

Thanks for your replies. I decided to re-instate (and pay for!) my Experian report to double check and the HSBC products now appear on there. It's just Equifax they're missing from, so I'll give them a ring later and get that sorted.

    Thanks for your help!

We cannot be certain which credit card providers search a particular agency's files (lenders do not disclose this information), but it's known that most use Experian, so that one matters more.

As above, you can contact HSBC. There's no harm in asking. That said, you cannot insist the bank reports to Equifax. The decision rests with the bank.

Actually Moggles we can be certain who searches who as we have our own thread on this subject which the kind MSE users fill in for us when they get a credit search done!

You've seen the thread mate
