Aldi often does cheapie arc welders for about £40 to £50 (which apparently are no good for car bodywork as they tend to blow holes in the thin metal). Here is a mig welder for a change. Apparently Power Craft mig welders are usually rebranded "Wolf" ones. Unfortunately people's experiences of the wolf brand seems less than good. For example

The one thing it has going for it though is the amp range is quoted as from 25 to 130 which should make it ideal for car bodywork. (Other cheapie mig welders tend to have around 50 amps as lowest setting which is usually considered too high for car bodywork). The 3 year guarantee sounds good if they will honour it. I've taken something back to Aldi before and there wasn't any hassle, so hopefully if it's crap they'll accept it back. It says it's combination gas/no gas - but there is no regulator shown in the picture.

You'd be better off buying a used proper one, complete with either a full size bottle or a pub bottle, cheepo migs aren't all that.

You'll get a second hand one for a similar price.

I have been offered a used Boc Migmaster 130 (same as Cebora Pocket Turbo 130, and Snap-on 130) for £100, which has been barely used but has been in a garage a few years. Choices choices :)

Go for that one is my advice, a good price for a lightly used one and ten times better than the Aldi one !
