I have HOLIDAY GUILT?!!

Ok. I haven't been on holiday anywhere (bar a weeks trip down country to a relatives where I was dog sitter) for nearly five years.
I decided this was the year I would have one, and my friend and I are looking for a weeks break in spain on a shoestring budget.
My only problem is that I've decided to do a course this autumn that will cost me 1,700 pounds. I'm going to have to pay for most of this through a loan I think.
So because I'm doing that I am wracked with guilt that I'm spending probably 300 pounds or so that could instead go on the course fees. If you ignore the course I can afford this.. if you include it I can't! But that's a giant spend of the like of going to uni that you have to live with, isn't it?
I was so looking forward to going away but now I feel a bit down about it... as I keep telling myself I should be saving the money for my course.
I currently have no other debts and have worked very hard to be on the level. Last year I was aiming to go but my other friend who was supposed to be coming with me got a boyfriend and dropped out on me.
So I have someone who won't drop out to go with this time.. I ought to make the most of it?

When you're going through Hell, Keep going!
If you can keep your head when all around you are losing theirs, then you probably haven't understood the seriousness of the situation
Just when you think human beings can't get any stupider, they get behind the wheel of a car...
Become eternally poor in one easy step- decide to love Horses...

Yes yes yes !
Think of it as a chill out time before you start your course. When you are stressed doing work with your course, you will have the memories of uor holiday to look back on.
Do not feel guilty, life is for enjoying

Sorry, for sounding so moany, but are you looking for sympathy, or someone to tell you its a bad idea for you to go on hols, so you have an excuse not to go?
At the end of the day the decision is yours and yours only.
Personally if I was in your situation I would go and enjoy it. However I'm not, and don't know the full extent of your financial situation."An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind" - Mahatma Gandhi0 -
My only note of caution is the amount you think it will cost - £300 sounds far to little for a holiday in Spain if that covers flights, accommodation and spending money - are you sure of your costs?0

Lesson in Lady E Logic
1. Having a holiday before you go away will do you the world of good because you will be fully refreshed upon your return and rearing to go.
2. Once you have completed your course , hopefully it will improve your salary bracket, so you could go into a well paid job and clear the small outstanding amount you have accreued.
3.If you still feel guilty consider getting a little job to tide you over , or if you have a job , over up for overtime etc .
4. FINALLY - life is too short .0 -
It's better to regret something you have done than something you have not done.0

Its the same all through your life. Now I'm agonising whether to have a foreign holiday, first time in years. Can't bring myself to go without the kids, now 17 and 12. Now the question is do we behave sensibly and pay off the overdraft/mortgage/credit card/car loan etc.etc. I want to give the kids something to remember so will fly in the face of all common sense and go...believe me with retirement on the horizon, life's too short, live it. At least you've got time to recoup, if you can't be impulsive now you never will. FGS enjoy it while you can, responsibilities only get BIGGER. By the way barron anything for us - except we of course are tied to school hols in August for goodness sake.0
