Need new HDD for Laptop

Can anyone recommend a outlet to purchase a new/replacment hdd for my Dell Laptop (Inspiron 6000)?

I keep getting blue screen errors relating to bad sectors - so time for me to replace the HDD.

Is the drive IDE or SATA? Look at the WD drives. I've just ordered the 160GB scorpio black from Ebuyer.

I think I'll get a bigger hdd though, and probably upgrade the ram (currently 512mb)

You really want to upgrade the ram, I'd say get a 2gb kit, 2x 1gb. That'll give better performance than a single 2gb stick. Look here for WD IDE drives.

yeah, might be an idea.

I'm still debating it as I might just buying a new laptop, and selling this one. Might not be financially economical to upgrade it by a great amount considering the price of laptops these days.

If it'll work for the rest of this year, stick it out and wait for the release of Win7. Do the anti-spyware/malware checks, Ccleaner run, defrag etc. Post a Hijack log in a separate thread. You'll be surprised what it'll do for performance.
