They said it was something to do with the term plus the fact I have 3 kids and another on the way. They did not feel I could make the payments due to these commitments. I have never missed a single payment.
I have 130 a month on a loan (Conservatory) and about 3k on a credit card which is adequately serviced.
My wife works only part time but we were not using her in the equation, although they did not go in depth into bills etc as several other lenders did (who were prepared to lend based on salary and bills)0
