Thumbnails in my photos, vista basic.

The new laptop i bought has never shown pictures or photos as thumbnails in the folder view. Ive searched all the options, but cant find any thing that would correct this.
To view pictures i need to open a viewer and look at them one by one. Makes uploading a pain... first i need to find the picture and name, then find the file name on any uploader.

Any way to fix this?

In Windows Explorer

Organize > Folder & Search Options > View Tab > Uncheck "Always Show Icons, Never Thumbnails.

Thank you! Gosh I feel slightly stupid now so easy to fix and I didn't even think of looking there.

I had a problem , and many user of vista have is that if you have alot of images or videos in one folder with thumbnails on the you keep getting errors come up every 10 seconds , If you turn them to see icons then the error goes away, just be warned of having folders with alot of images and videos

Never seen that before and I have folders with many thousands of images displaying as thumbnails fine.

yer it was wierd. it comes up with COM Surrogate has stopped working and does the whole thing do you want to send to microsoft. one of those things that it either works on computers or it doesn't . its annoying to have to open everythin in a previewer, but you have to learn to live with it
