I hold shares in a company, they have just announced that they intend to implement a share consolidation, basically a 5 for 1 swop. Has anyone any experience of share consolidations - short/long term?
Thanks for any help.

Hi,
think you mean a 1 for 5, so if you have 5000 worth £1 each just now, you will then have 1000 worth £5 each, same value, a split would be the other way around, 1000 @ £5 then 5000 @ £1.0 -
It's often known as a reverse split, it is designed to reduce the number of shares in the float and bolster the appearance of the stocks price.Hope for the best.....Plan for the worst!

Yes, that's what I meant. Thanks.0
