beccabee, do you know the name of the shop in Firth Park in Sheffield, please, or where abouts they are?

I make all mine
........but.... thinking of all my craft and art stash, Ive far exceeded the price I would of paid in cards for the tools and card/craft bits!!! lol (im addicted! lol)
but it was the price of cards and the fact that everyone used to throw them away after the day was over that got me making my own, and no ones ever thrown them away since! Lovely for the kids to make and give cards, always treasured by the reciever!

M & S have a lovely range starting from £1, all cellophane wrapped as well, so keep clean and unbent until ready to send.0

purplegirluk1 wrote:Birthdays are doing 5 for £1 in my local store and I have seem in mentioned in here before. They are normal quality cards, probably just the ones they are getting rid off. I went to my local store with a list of the years b days and events and got all my cards for far less than I would have if I was to buy them one by one.
I started a thread about Birthdays and their cards. Some of the cards were orginally £2.99 and getting 5 for a £1 was brilliant. I was told it was supposed to be ending this week. The total cost of mine should have been something like £33.20 and I paid just £4. Well worth a visit if you have a store near you. Like purplegirluk1 I went with a list for all the years birthdays and am now sorted!

Woolworth's now do some lovely hand-crafted cards quite cheaply. They also do a box of about 18 assorted hand crafted cards for about £6.
I make all my own cards, which isn't a cheap hobby, but I'd certainly buy some of the cards from Woolworth's otherwise. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
The Works (cheap book shops nationwide) do nice cards 2 for a pound or smaller ones 4 for a pound. some really nice ones, but often fairly random.0

Sainsburys own range of childrens cards is very good, approx 49p.
If you are a member of Costco they also do lovely selection boxes which are the handmade type.
Also agree that the M&S and Phoenix cards are well worth the £1
