What is best way? Travel Insurance

Later in year daughter, her husband and kids are using a chalet in Austria. They have invited wife and me along. We are both in our seventies and they in their thirties. I have had ops for early cancer and heart bypass over 5 years ago. They are arranging flights and car hire for the whole party.

My question is this. Is it advisable for us to make our own insurance arrangements, leaving them to make their own, if any. Or is it preferable that we all travel under one insurance, and by whom (them or us) should it be arranged?

Absolutely, no one knows your past medical history better than you. Seeing what you said before then your insurance company (IC) will want some answers before they agree cover.

Likewise if your daughter makes an error in proposing the insurance and something happened medically, then her error could void the whole policy. It saves agro anyway that if you mess up or fail to read the policy then that's your fault not hers and you can't copmplain if it costs you.

It is also advisable that she declaires your pre existing conditions as you may affect their coverage if you were to be taken ill on holiday. Namely they may have to cut short their trip and therefore claim against their policy.

Some policies state that you should tell the IC if any one in your family is suffering from a medical condition even if they are not traveling as you may have to come home early for a sick relative.
