I'm sure that the syntax recognition of alpha will improve as the programmers gather real world data sets of the way people use it, allowing them to tune it to the way the users think. The scientific data in there will be useful, it's much better than some of wiki's data, the mean bond dissociation enthalpy data in wikipedia is really poor.Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0

Hi
It's smart.
There's a write-up in the Guardian too.
Here :-http://www.guardian.co.uk/technology/2009/may/18/wolfram-alpha-search-engine-google-rival-semantic-web
Also it can be added to the Firefox search engine box, here:-https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/11973

It's a Lorenz Attractor, a bit like this one here:-http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/f4/Lorenz_attractor.svg/600px-Lorenz_attractor.svg.png

So far, not impressed. Asked four simple questions like "longest bridge in Britain" or "oldest city" and it finds no results, but click the search the web link and I get a Google page giving links to the answers.0

Maybe not a problem for you, but it certainly is for me. Nicely done bat999. Anyone recognise my new avatar? This time drawing from chemistry. I'm a bit better at that than maths.Ubuntu is an ancient African word, meaning: 'I can't configure Debian'.0

Tried few searches, it just seems to be fact finder site (like wikipedia just worse than wikipedia for now at least) - what's the big deal I wonder.
Google will come up with something better no doubt.0
