BT Line in New Build House

I am after some advice with regards to a phone line.

I am moving to a new build house and I am a first time buyer. I am wanting the phone line connecting (master socket already fitted) mainly for use for broadband.

We are having to transfer over Orange Home broadband as it is still in the minimum term of the contract, one of their conditions is controlling your call charging.

Can anyone advise me as to the best persons to connect the phone line and the cheapest line rental I can get. BT have quoted me the 122 pound connection and 12 pound a month line rental. I cannot get the free line rental deal due to the call charging been taken over by Orange.

Many Thanks
Ian

Welcome to the MSE forums d02240090.

Use BT's current offer to get a line connected for nothing.

Do not accept any prevarication like, "That's only available to those moving from cable" or "You have to have received a special offer letter with a code to be eligible."

You have to agree to an 18 month line rental contract and you'll have to have BT's Unlimited Weekend Plan but you can opt to use any CPS calls provider you like.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
