Applied to Vanquis on 5th May- Had to send it bank statement to prove current address but doesnt gurantee acceptance

Applied for a Mothercare card on 15th May- Declined

Applied for Aqua card on 18th May- Referred to another department and when I called, all the would say is that my application has been referred to another department!

I have a feeling Vanquis and Aqua are going to decline me anyway. I just need to rebuiled my history as I have 3 missed payments in the last 12 months and I want to close down my Capital One card as they have really annoyed me so I want a card that will increase with time as well as build up my history again.

You think I made a mess making applications so close together?

I don't know your circs. but I applied for all 3 sub-prime cards, 2 on the same day and one the day after, and was accepted for all 3. I didn't get an instant decision, but when I rang them they said I was accepted, and Aqua put a letter in the post.

If I were you I wouldn't apply for anymore credit for at least 3 months, to give the searches a chance to age a bit.

I wont be applying for 6 months!!!!!

When I called Vanquis and Aqua, they both had no decisions and most of the people here who got accepted were told on the phone that they had been accepted so im not going to be too optimistic to be honest!

I had 9 searches when I applied for Aqua and Vanquis, and still got accepted. CapitalOne accepted me with 13 searches and I now have around 16, and got accepted for Littlewoods. You'll be fine.

You'll be fine with Vanquis - they wouldn't ask for no reason. Plus the fact where you work must help to sway their decision somewhat if that seed of doubt was planted.

If Vanquis decline you just reapply in 3 months. I did after I got declined 1st time round....

Aqua are part of HBOS and so they use same/similar techniques as the main bank and tbh, i've never got anywhere near acceptance and that is annoying cos I have two normal cards - suckers (their loss)!

You'll be fine..... although Vanquis would prob start you with a £250 limit and an offer of £200 cash at outset (from your limit!)....

I hate taking cash out of CC so even if they didnt give me a cash advance thats no loss to me!!!

Word on the street is that Aqua can be a difficult card to get. But hold your horses, Rose . Banish the negative vibes and let the positive vibes in :happylove.
