Well deleting the system restores would be a good idea once you know the computers clean then set a new one.
Running them is common sense. if ou think you may be infected then run the lot. If not then I generally say alternate weekly for your average surfer or monthyly for mega safe surfers (that WOULDNT be you

Doing it now-thanks again!
Taking forever so will post later this pm. Agan-thanks!0 -
Still going (7-am!)-14 1/2 hours! 85% done now. Will post when done. Getting pop up warnings from AVIRA for some trojans though, have denied access to a couple, quarantined a couple & deleted a couple. Strange as i disabled Avira (via winpatrol on startup) as another antivirus would conflict with ESET??!
Will post quarantined names once ESET done.
With pop ups for nasties with AVIRA is it best to delete/quarantine/deny??
Can't understand the ESET length of time-will post log as soon as done.0 -
Ok...log below-NO NASTIES! But....AVIRA has TR/CRYPT/XPACK.GEN TROJAN/TR/DROPPER.GEN.TROJAN/TR/UNPACKED.GEN TROJAN in quarantine...about 2/3 entries on each (aleerted by a pop up each time).....should I re-boot/update avira & re-scan or are there any other ideas you have?
Again-THANKS-you are a saint!

Hi Alienrick, scanned with spybot/superantispyware/malwarebytes/avira & NOTHING! Looks like they've all gone.
Do you still think it's worth deleteing all other system restore points? Also...with the quarantined stuff in Avira-should I leave it or delte it?
Again-thanks!0 -
Personally id remove all restore points then set a new one
Quarantine ~ id leave them there for a month or 2 in case one or two of the files are really needed:idea:0 -
Thanks again for all your help!0

No worries
