im not the one making a presumption of what people can afford, i merely read what the op wanted to spend.if someone came on here and said i want a car to get me from a to b costing 1k you wouldnt tell them to get a roller would you.
same application
if not a bit exaggerated:rolleyes:
I just made a suggestion.
"over £450ish" sounds pretty elastic to me, but it's up to the OP.0 -

The White MacBook wouldn't be much more than £550 with the education discount that the OP would qualify for (I did mention the discount in my first post), plus it would have a 3 year warranty, and possibly a free iPod Touch or Nano.and thats for one that wont perform all that brilliantly with sims 3 seeing as it only has an integrated gpu
The NVIDIA GeForce 9400M in the newer MacBooks isn't too bad, and should run the Sims without any problems.0 -

Well I can only go with my experience of them which is very good actually. Bought my first laptop 5 years ago and have always bought acer, with the exception of my lenovo netbook.
They wont be the thinnest or lightest but they work fine.
If I was going to splash out I'd buy a mac, they only thing that puts me off them is that the models I'd go for dont do HD like similar priced laptops.0 -
i have found this is it any good?

Buy a mac? Not many games run on a mac.0

I'd be worried about the processor being pentium as it is they run hot. Slower memory and hard drive and not full HD. Whats the price? Its not too bad.0
