Advices re suitable bank account

Having read around the forums it seems the Co-op gets a thumbs up from many basic account searchers. In light of this: I have been a self-financing carer for quite a few years now so I do not work but have more than adequate assets to pay for my needs. I would like to change banks but am mindful of falling at the employment hurdle and thus being refused a new account. Would anyone care to suggest a bank that might be suitable? I need internet access and a debit/atm card of some sort. I have no history of debt, the exact opposite in fact!
Thanks
