have to say I've got the NC20 and it's brilliant. great for Internet, light weight although no Dvd but that only means more battery life and less weight . if you don't mind he smaller screen I would recommend the nc10. Personally, I needed the bigger screen for web development and coding, but for your needs you will prob find this adequate.
I'm saving up my pennies to get an NC20 myself but just put off slightly by the glossy screen. Do you find it a problem?
I've had my dell laptop for going on 7 years now and its getting a bit slow and overheats occasionally so it's about time a got a new one I reckon.
The new N120 may be an option too - full size keyboard, better speakers but only 10" screen.0 -
The MacBook Air is as light as it gets (3 lbs!), but it has no DVD drive and prices start at £1,271.
The White MacBook weighs 5 lbs, and is a few hundred pounds cheaper than the metal bodied version (which is a little bit lighter).
None of them are cheap, but you can save money by getting a student to purchase it for you with their student discount, or buying from the Apple Refurb Store.
They all have a webcam and wifi built-in.0 -

I have a Philips Freevents X55P.
Weight...'Ultralight 1.85kg'.
also... DVD/RW
Perfect for me, I'm disabled too and can hold it easily no problem. :cool:0 -
Thank you very much everyone. I am going to have a closer look at all the recommendations now - although I think my budget might not stretch to the MacBooks, lol! I can probably only afford to spend £400-£450.
Thanks again.0 -

if it helps I got a Toshiba R400 for £400 on ebay, built like a Mac, more powerful than a netbook and the tablet mode makes it a good eBook reader0
