It won't effect your Income Support unless you still get premiums for your children(most people now get Child Tax Credits instead).
If you get Child Tax Credit let them know as you will get the Disabled Child Premium on you Tax Credit which will increase your TC income by at least £50 per week.0 -
yep,my friends little boy got awarded dla and tax credits backdated it and they got a nice surprise when she checked her bank! definitely tell tax credits the date it started from etc.0

hi,
My first point of call would be the cab some benefits oeverlap some act act as passports to other benefits. NEVER second guess how ever much of a pain check with cab or a benefits workshop you may find a route to something else your entitled to.
best of luck0 -
Hi there
You will now qualify for carer's allowance, which I believe is offset by income support (surprise surprsise) but I think you also then get an income support carer's premium of about £27 a week. I have just applied for both today.
So your Income SUpport should now increase, on top of the child tax credits. I have to say, my income has gone up so much since my son has got DLA, I wonder how I managed to get him to hospital and back every week on the amount we had.
Good luck.

You need a DLA care award of middle to high rate to claim carers allowance and the OP has high rate mobility only.0 -
