In a 20 mile radius of my postcode (mid-Cheshire), the number of available properties on RightMove has increased by 6,500 (yes - six and a half thousand) since mid- November 2005. But the proportion under offer has stayed around the 20% mark.

"Houses flying off the shelves", said RightMove in February. Yeah right ....

Thank you all, glad to hear that the general consensus is the same.

However, I would be interested in hearing from people in London, because the area that I'm looking at is in London!

This reminds me of the Poll that I started on here at the start of the year. The results of that seem to be mimicking what we are experiencing now!

well Im looking ( not actively, just on the internet for now) in east london, leytonstone, walthamstowe, woodford etc. there is stuff, but the same pics have been on the webistes ( inc rightmove et al) for weeks and weeks with very little new stuff coming up.
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast

These houses are either overpriced or just have something lacking in the desirability factor!!! Anything priced correctly and half decent is flying off I've noticed in those areas!! :D

also rightmove has quite a few duplicates of ads on their website,i have seen one house advertised 5 times at the same time.

maybe they have a shortage of properties for sale and are trying to make out that there are loads, lol.

    :hello:

Am tentatively looking in London at the moment. Drove through Penge at the weekend and noticed virtually every board said 'sold'. Stopped at the main agent and they had virtually nothing. Nothing at all in the price range we're looking - said it was flying out the door.

I thought Penge was underrated, but not at the moment obviously!
