Help needed with HSBC's response

I've put in a claim with HSBC of £1000ish which I hope to get back as I fall under the 'hardship' bracket.

I sent them the hardship letter along with a list of the charges I believed to be unfair, and today I received this response;

"Thank you for you letter dated 06/05/09 concerning bank charges applied to your account.

I am looking into the matters you have raised and will contact you with a full response as soon as I have completed my investigations.

In the meantime, I enclose a copy of our leaflet which explains how these matters are dealt with. If you need to contact us please quote reference number XXXXXXXXX."

What I would like to know, if anyone can help, is what I should do next? I am worried that my claim will now be put on a pile and forgotten about as they have now responded to me within the 14 days I requested.

Is there anything I can do to speed up their investigations into my case?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks

    i did a hsbc hardship claim
    similar response to yours but basically of approx £1500 got £200 refund til the case gets heard and 3 months no charges grace period where going over my overdraft was not permitted by hsbc ie they bounced dds and did not let me withdraw over my od but didnot charge me for the privelage for 3 months

    dont get high hopes for a full refund of the £1000 anything at this stage would be although it shouldnt be a bonus hardship or not

    the banks really are the pits i ended up accepting the £200 refund but stating that i was not accepting it as full and final and taking advantage of the 3 months grace period and in that time moving to another bank and am now paying off overdraft at £5 month

    good luck

    after 3 month period
