Hairspray help!

Hi,
Not sure I will get any replies for this....but I wanna buy a decent hairspray.
I must have spent so many pounds on different hairsprays. My problem is I have very fine, flyaway hair so for my hair to stay in any kind of style, I need to use hairspray.
However, the other problem I have is no matter how hard I brush my hair, or how much I rub when washing it, I find the hairspry still leaves white stuff in my hair. It seems to cling to the strands, like little tiny white bits of dust, its horrible. I don't even use that much!!!
I have used everything on the high street like Vo5, Pantene, Elnett (which is the worst), Silverkin.
Does anyone have the same problem?? I am thinking of buying a TIGI Bed Head Superstar Liquid Pump Hairspray next week at the hairdressers - in the hope a liquid spray wont be the same as an aerosol spray?
Thanks!!

I always use Bristows.... Dark pink can, although it is quite cheap (less than a pound) it's the only one I have found that dosen't leave a residue in my hair and brushes out easily. I can usually get it in Wilkinsons, Home & Bargain, and Netto. I agree Elnett is terrible. (I am a female despite my log in name!!)0

I'm a hairdresser so may have a small solution. You could be spraying to close to your hair. When you go to was it put the shampoo on dry hair and rub in then wet and lather it, this should break the hairspray down quicker and then it should come out better.
Hope I have helped.0 -

I agree with "burnsguitarman" above. My hair is really fly away so use alot of hairspray and find that Bristows is really good, it brushes out easily and holds my hair really well.0

Elnett is a good hairspray but can be a little expensive in some stores.0

i use Boots own hairspray, never have any bother with it0

Thanks for all the hints and tips. I will try the shampoo in dry hair, and have a look for Bristows!!
Sorry I have to disagree, I hate Elnett - its the worst of the lot for residue and hardness. I always spray from far away, but maybe I have little arms, il try further away :rotfl:Is a sufferer of SAD, so don't blame me, blame the depressing English weather!!!:beer:0 -
I too have fine flyaway hair and have used Silvikrin Firm Hold for years..never have had a residue problem.0

Thats just what I was about to suggest- but do a google search on it, there are quite a few offers of the stuff on several websites, some are buy one get one free, others are 30% or 40% or ...off, some have free gifts, but its safe to say all are cheaper then hair salon prices!
I would suggest also- if your using a dry-hair product, to look for a product called hair-powder which Bumble and Bumble do. It is just like a dry-hair spray but is coloured (and magicly does not seem to land all over my face when I use it- and I have ghostly pale skin with bright red hair and my face stays pale!) Its available from HQ hair I think and some other places. Dry shampoo is good but will defo leave your hair with a white powder- I have been through 4 different brands, (James Brown, Baptise, Toni-and-Guy-Model-Me and another in a bright pink can I have forgotten the name of!) they all leave a white residue in my hairThe bumble and Bumble stuff is coloured and blends well too. But its not cheap! Anywhere!!
-sorry if I am beginning to sound like a walking ad for this product!! its my beauty secret (covers my roots and doesn't run whilst I sweat it out in the gym...makes my hair bright...(sorry, I'll stop now!)) and I have run out (lasted me over a year...) and am saving for a new one whilst obsessing at the fact I have run out....!!0 -
I have used a dry shampoo now and again for years, I always use baptiste, but know what you mean about the residue, however it does wash out, unlike the flaming hairspray!
I bought some of the TIGI stuff yesterday on ebay for £5.45 so I am happy with that price, was £10 in my salon.
What is the name of the Bumble and Bumble stuff?? Sounds interesting but I cant get my head around the colour you mention???Is a sufferer of SAD, so don't blame me, blame the depressing English weather!!!:beer:0
