ISP address

hi all

Is there any way of tracking where an ISP address is from please? :confused:

    If you are using Windows then click START >> run >> cmd

    This should give you a command prompt, from here enter: tracert (IP Address without brackets) i.e >: tracert 257.257.257.257.

    This should give you a rough idea of the locality.

    The RIPE database also gives useful info

    For example querying 212.58.224.126 tells you who the BBC's IP address is registered to, 217.22.64.74 tells you it belongs to Active24 hosting and so on
