well where do i start i have tried to change my elecricity supplier as i am on a prepayment meter which is costing me £160 month , my supplier southern electric have refused to let me transfer companies as i have a debt on my meter which shoud have been paid of two years ago but due to there mistake they have only applied it last week, after contacting them this morning they are still refusing to let me change companies and are now refusing to take the meter out and put ina bill meter to try and save me some money any one got ideas or advice

You can't switch if you have debt and your supplier is not willing to let you transfer.
If you have debt, it is unlikely a supplier will let you have a credit meter until your debt is repaid and will then want a deposit in case you run up debt again.
Looking at it from your supplier's point of view, they want you to repay your debt and not owe them any more than you do already. Allowing you to switch or have a credit meter wouldn't help them.
As I see it, your options are: clear your debt, apply for a credit meter and pay a deposit. Or clear your debt, switch and apply for a credit meter. Or pay your debt over a period of time using the prepayment meter but pay as much as you can and slash your usage to clear the debt quicker.0
