Have an item for sale with reserve price and higher BIN price.This guy bids £70 then 1 min later bids £90 which reaches my reserve.He them mails me to ask if he can withdraw bid as its the wrong kind of item he wants.Great now my BIN is gone and everyone knows the reserve price.I didnt think he needed my permission to retract his bid but what will happen to the BIN price and reserve price if he does ? Makes me wonder if this guy is bidding on behalf of someone else to find out the reserve :'(

It does sound like he was trying to find out your reserve price. He can withdraw his own bid if there are more than 12 hours to go on the auction but that shows on his feedback page which some buyers don't like. However as he has made it quite clear he doesn't want the item if he won't withdraw his bid himself then you will have to do it for him rather than end up with a non paying bidder.

The reserve shouldn't be affected though, it still can't go for less than reserve, however, as soon as you get a bid in above the reserve price the BIN has gone anyway, and I don't think there is anything you can do about that.

Hmm i just cancelled his bid anyway after finding the option to do so and the BIN price is reinstated as before.
The item has 17 watchers so hopefully the price will rise in the final hours.
