I want info on footwear market

Maybe this is not in the appropiate section.I need some info on the sports shoe market e.g groth report over last few years etc etc. The only place is Mintel & Keynote and they charge anything from £500 to £1000+ easy. Im only 16 and in college so thats a bit far off for me, ive been searchin the net for info for the past 2 hours. Please help. Thanks!!!!!

Can you not access Mintel reports through your college's library service? If they subscribe them you can access them using your Athens password.

You might be able to find some info by doing an archive search of newspaper websites to see if you can find anything in the business section. I use the Guardian website a lot for research. I'm sure I remember reading an article to do with how Nike persists in marketing their trainers as sports shoes rather than fashion items and how it's resulting in them loosing out in the market. I was looking for info on mass-customisation at the time and the article popped up since both Nike and Adidas are now using that.

Just turned up the corporate websites for a few of the big players. They publish their financial reports on the web:
Nike, Adidas, Reebok, Puma.

Thanks. My college stopped with the internet Mintel, costs too much, how sad considering they are top college in London or second. We got the Mintel book but people are always using it and i hate the library ///lol. Looks like ill have to go there.
