It's a new frontier. There are so many people looking for the well paid job, that they used to enjoy, but the writing has been on the wall for many of these jobs for a number of years. Have you read Rich Dad, Poor Dad? Not as well written as a lot of your posts, but he could see what was coming and has made a fortune.
Those with entrepreneurial spirits, who keep positive and find the angles will rise to the top. It's that fine balance between the Unemployment is making me miserable type posts, which people relate to, but ultimately get bored with and want to start giving the writer a kick up the a*se along with a copy of anything written by Norman Vincent Peale, to the Pollyanna approach which is unrealistic and annoying. A blogger who gets the balance right, and guides the shell shocked through the maze could become a legend ........ I'm rooting for you.
You guys are really starting to make me think seriously about this!Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

The Big Job Seeking Experience sticks in my mind.....but a balance of self effacement (sic??) and positive stuff coupled with ;I''t's 11am and I really just want a to pop a beer and watch J Kyle'' type posts.....creates a blend that captures a bigger audience.
A Yin Yang type of thing.
Some just want to read about others angst (shaudenfraude type feeling that makes them feel better about ther own $h1tt) and other just want to to read about the struggle, followed by the winning (cos that's what makes them feel better in their own lives)......a successful recipe as most books and films are based on that format (Officer and a Gentleman type story).
So a balance of angst, struggle, winning and losing are the key ingredients.
I have to go eat now...I am passing out with low blood sugar
Beat a fat 3a$tard at the pool on speed + front crawl ...why do men want to beat the slim old lady at the pool? I usually don't bother...but they wait for you to get to the end, then push off and practically have a heart attack trying to beat me. Errr ..in your dreams mate..I still want to wear halter necks...so I will swim faster every time.0 -

Check with PN about the ad income. If it's just the gas bill ..it's worth it.0 -
Ah ... you don't start with the name, you start with keyword research... from the stats, you come up with the name.
Except I never do it that way either. I just think up things until I find a domain that's available.0 -

I'm creating my next big thing at the moment ... except I spend WAY too long deliberating over which product to choose.... but I think I've picked my design now. Should crack on with that in the next 2 days, by which time the ad server will be up and running and ready to integrate.0

Hi I saw your post 'Elsewhere' and was going to repsond later on.
If you need an very not techy type to test things..I am your man (sorry;)..old lady albeit one that can still wear halters without suffering that dehibilating (sic?) condition of 'Arm scrote').
BTW 'Making things' covers lots of different things...they don't all have to be things one can touch and pop in the washing machine.
If you can make things from nothing ..you have an edge...a handy one in a downturn too.
A pad and a pencil is all Pepys, Huxley or Bronte had. It's nothing really and to engage the reader is such a big deal. I have been so influenced in my life by stuff people took the time to write down....it's how humans go on into the next generation.
Only said that to inspire Maxy further.;)
Also, can I just say......we are really bad at valuing the things we find easy to do..the things that we have a natural knack/talent for. We tend to value the things that we struggle with (as they were masses of effort so feel more 'worthy') and it's accepting that these things have a value worth selling to someone.
I really feel wonderful after completing a VAT return as I struggle with math (I am sure there is a condition called numerical dyslexia..whereby one swaps numbers around..I do it all the time..causes havoc in my life) but throw up a new look, shape...pffft ...no big deal.
To write in a way that engages the reader is a skill and a talent......and are we @ 40 odd pages now? Considering the log in thing is only 9 per night...says something eh?0 -

The above thread was on DFW board..I hate to flag it up here..but it's too long for anyone to go through now.
She wrote in an engaging way.
Her daughter had died of leukeamia and she had written about it.
The last post I saw, she had a publishing deal on her tale. I recall posting on her thread a year back..she worked through the issues, went running and wrote about...plus all the day to day stuff.0 -

Unsuited.
How can you make money from a blog about unemployment (job recruitment agencies ect), and claim unemployment benefits at the same time?
Also I would caution that some of your views would not be views some companies would want to be associated with - for what was previously suggested like job agencies... (and would they be paying any decent referral fees?)
Discussion in this thread is one thing.. but I've read Jobless in Henley and other stuff on the Telegraph and BBC websites. I'm not sure if you're going to get a following for a full-on blog about a from a mortgage free home-owner getting bitter about the system.
fc123 hinted at it.. but for successful business-generating purposes.. whacky stories but from position of positive creativity, superior knowledge, power, expertise, events you wouldn't otherwise hear of from an insider..... despite this thread.. I don't believe an blog about life in the system of unemployment is a winner.
Also, do you want to go mad, by constantly delving into and mulling on all the deepest nasty stuff you don't like about the system?
Get a job, even minimum wage, or set up for yourself, for your own sanity.0
