No, its not, its one of those weird arrogances of humanity.I get the 'premise', I just feel any attempt at syllogistic reasoning is valid because of the fundamental arrogance leading to fundamental flaw. Ultra sound for example...you can't hear it, it exists: we know because we use it to measure other things. If humans weren't here to here trees falling, fewer trees would fall. Not as profound, sadly, & suggests we are less important than we'd like to think. The world would go on (and possibly for longer) if we weren't here to hear trees falling.
A lot of ''profound'' things are actually just clap trap.

This could be interesting...!
If you must know... it was in a busy pub and we were on bar-stools arguing through STR logic at the bar. After you were just agreeing about how it can make sense, a guy who'd come over to get served overheard, asked about the house, explaining he was needing to buy a house quickly, and would do you a good deal if you'd move on within the week. You stood up to talk to him and he took details. Also stood as your mobile rang with a job offer (something about a company supplying gear to the army.).

I know what you're thinking. "Should he Sell To Rent or not?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement I kind of lost track myself. But being as this is a .44 Gordon Brown recession, the most powerful recession in the world, and would blow your wallet clean off, you've got to ask yourself a question: Do I feel lucky? Well, do ya punk?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

Except he's a little older now.0 -
After all - no 30 years worth of NI contributions from me....and no State Pension coming into my bank account.....
- midwife/doctors pre-natal
- birth/post-natal care
- £250 cash on delivery
- child allowances
- parents' top ups re CTC/WTC
- extra free goodies (school dinners, god knows what, etc)
- education at school
- top up the Uni cost
- social workers, police, prisons for the naughty ones
- stuff I haven't even though of ... etc etc
And on TOP of that ... they'll also be wanting a pension.
Breeding kids in the belief it will pay for the pensions of the older generation is a ridiculous ponzi-style of thinking.0 -

No idea.....but I missed out on the maternity grants with mine!We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.0 -

Nobody, the government is simply printing it at the moment.
(To replace the Ponzi money that the banks had created and fools with credit cards had borrowed.)
Bankruptcy v Inflation is the choice for sorting it out.0 -
Max, any luck on the job front yet?'The only thing that helps me keep my slender grip on reality is the friendship I have with my collection of singing potatoes'
