Confirmation of divorce

Just a quick query, just wondering if there is a way of finding out if a divorce has been issued for a marriage, ie researching someone!:beer:

I don't know but i once remember looking at our local councils website and there you can search birth/death/marriage certs. I searched a divorced friend and he no longer showed on the marriage register since the divorce.
I know it's not a definite thing but i just remembered doing this.0 -
