I've been trying to list a Gucci shopping (carrier) bag for a couple of days but keep getting the following message. I've checked and I'm verified and linked. I'm not new to eBay and have 100% feedback so I'm not sure why this is happening or how to get around it. I had a similar problem with a Nike item I listed a while a go and when I took Nike out of the title description it allowed me to list. Obviously I don't want to do that for this item as Gucci is the main attraction. Any help appreciated. It may be worth adding that I'm a private seller and all of the item's I list have been bought for me or my familiy - I'm not purchasing things purely with the intention of reselling - Ta

As I say, I've checked that Paypal is verified and it is indeed linked to my ebay account!

Unfortunately it is the 'Gucci' bit that's causing the problem. I'm guessing that you're trying to list in the clothing and accessories category?
You might have more luck if you list in another category such as memorabilia or something else suitable in the collectables category.
Or it could be that it's the combination of the words 'Gucci' and 'bag' which is the problem. Maybe have a play with the wording of it.
God luck!

Hi, yes I'm trying to list it under 'bags' as I couldn't think where else to list it but now I'll give one of the other categories a go so thanks for that :T
Really can't think of what else to put in the description though??

hi i had this problem when trying to sell a chloe bag and an adidas top.it came up with exactly the same message.it definitely is to do with the brand name as when i took the word adidas out it worked.i tried it with the word addidas spelt wrongly and it worked.
i however was 1oo% feedback and linked so i still have no idea whats going on.0 -

It's really strange isn't it. Could understand it if I was selling or had sold loads of the same item. Very annoying! I don't really want to mis spell it as then it won't get found... not sure if there is any other way round it though? I'll be wanting to list my son's Adidas football boots in a few weeks so it looks as though I'm going to have the same problem then!
Anyone know how to become 'allowed' to post these items when it's clear that we are genuine sellers selling genuine used items?

someone told me that you have to prove to ebay that they are 100% authentic ie if the chloe bag had a dustbag with it!!or if you write to the company or email them with a photo of the product and they confirm in writing that its genuine.
i personally think this is really silly.i have found though that by mis-spelling the word people do still find it ok (only done this with tshirt) as the real word is the the sub category further down the page.ive decided to use the chloe bag myself but would have prefferred to sell it.i guess theres so many fake items around that they have to be careful.0 -
Here's the response from eBay regarding my query... Hope it helps someone else! I've now managed to list my item! Hurrah :j
I've checked your account and found that your PayPal email address
linked to your eBay account is different from the email address
("xxxxxx@hotmail.com") registered with your eBay account.
Here's what to do now:
Link your eBay and verified PayPal account
1. Log into your eBay account and select "My account" > "Addresses".
2. Unlink your current PayPal Address "yyyyy@hotmail.com" by
clicking the "delete your PayPal addresses" link .
3. Log into your PayPal account for the email address
"xxxx@hotmail.com" and click the Profile subtab.
4. Select "Selling Preferences" > "Auctions".
5. Click "Add" and enter your eBay User ID.
I knew there would be a simple answer...Light Bulb Moment 4th January 2009 :eek:Started DMP 1st April 2009 :ADMP mutual support thread member: 267 :j0
