hi i have an account with abbey but no credit cards with them allthough my husband did have an account with them which i was on and went bankrupt on that account to the tune of 1500 pounds will i get chased for this

Yes - you now have a debt of £1500 to Abbey. And your current account is with Abbey.

So what Alleycat suggested is relevant - move your banking to a company that you don't have debts to.

Is this £1500 part of the £6k you mentioned earlier or additional to it? Are there other joint debts that are coming your way as a result of hubby's bankruptcy?

Statutory demands (where a creditor makes you bankrupt) are very rare. A2C sees a few of them because of where she works but there's only a tiny possibility that this will happen to you for a few thousand of credit card debts.

What you will get is a load of hassle and empty threats, which is why I suggested getting someone alongside to help. We can support you to some extent but the CCCS, CAB or Payplan will actually help you to write letters (or do it for you) to your creditors.
